Happiness Project Week 14
I am overjoyed that I made it through Spring Break week! I spent the entire prior week worried that I would feel exhausted and wiped out, but now that I have made it through I feel exhilarated. I was most daunted by Monday because I had to work from 7:30 am – 7:30 pm. I was definitely tired, but I was blessed by the presence of two of my favorite swimmers from 3.5 years ago.
It brought me so much joy to be reunited and see how much they have grown as swimmers and people. I remember when we first met. I was a new coach and they were both working on getting just across the pool. I feel honored that I got to be a part of their journey. Those were the formative years of their swimming strokes and technique. They always payed close attention in practice and did their best to apply everything they learned at each workout. Seeing them was always so uplifting because they were always happy, positive, and enthusiastic about learning. Last week I got to witness the results of hard work, perseverance, focus, and dedication.
After spending time with them and their family I felt inspired and motivated to learn even more and grow as a person and coach. This positive energy got me through my week and has been with me ever since.
Monday helped prepare me for the rest of the week. After working that long day, the other days felt shorter and I enjoyed my spring break shifts a lot more than I thought I would.
This week I am preparing for my swim team’s first inter-squad swim meet. I want it to be a fun, positive, and inspiring experience for everyone.
I think it is perfect that the focus for this month is to “Lighten up.” Things have been pretty heavy in m6y life lately. I think it is time for me to simplify once. again.
- Sing in the morning
- Acknowledge the reality of people’s feelings
- Create Happy memories
- Take time for projects
Enjoy this week, everyone!
Love and Blessings always,
