This may not be the giant bathtub by the window in the spacious bathroom I have had these past 8 months, but
I have a hot cup of tea and I am happy!
What more does a girl need, right?…
Actually a lot of things, but this is a good start. I think that we need to treasure the small everyday joys in life because they ALL add up to beautiful memories that we can look back on.
Today was Day 2 of my 7 Day Challenge!
This is what I ate today:
- Minneola Tangerine
- Mixed nuts
- Pure Peppermint tea
- Shrimp and Vegtable Stir-fry
- Baby Spinach
- Mixed nuts
- Lemon water
*I have been putting fresh spinach over all my lunches in place of rice and it works! I think I might even like it better and it is an easy way to get my veggies in. The other nice thing is that you don’t need dressing because the main dish already has lots of flavor! Give it a try! You’ll like it!
- Paneer Pakora (maybe not the healthiest choice of all, but definitely Delicious!)
- Palak Paneer (Creamed spinach with herbs and spice)
- Chai Tea
There’s Room for Dessert!
I can’t tell you the number of times that I thought about reaching for the Ben & Jerry’s in the fridge, but then I remembered the encouragement that my friend Paula gave me. She said that you can do Anything for 7 days! That has kept me motivated throughout this challenge! So this is what I did instead:
- Cara Cara Orange (I absolutely love this pink navel oranges! Try them out while they are in season!)
This morning in Spinning class I did power intervals with the students and they were killer! We broke into 2 groups the 1st group did
- 1 Min of Curtsy lunges to Side lunges (Repeat with both legs)
- 1 Min of Suitcase rotations
- 1 Min of Bicep Curls with bands
In the meantime the other group stayed on their bikes and:
- 1 Min Standing jog (on bike)
- 1 Min sitting
- 1 Min hover
*Repeat this circuit 3 times!
This workout definitely packed in a lot of power in a short amount of time. I was sweating so much and it is embarrassing to sweat this much around the students… Will it always be this way? I sure hope not!!! I enjoy working hard and challenging myself, but I do NOT enjoy sweating so much!
I really enjoyed my time at work and it helped that I got to look forward to a massage and Rest Day! I know that this week I worked HARD for my rest day!!! I have been pretty sore this week in my lower back, neck, and shoulders. I don’t think it is really workout related; I think it is more from stress so I am so thankful that I have these massages to work things out.
After my massage I treated myself to Indian food. That has been my latest obsession. This month I have tried the same dish at 3 different local restaurants and I know which one is my favorite. It was a nice rest from cooking and absolutely delicious!!!
I am so excited to see some of our seedlings sprout. I moved some of the plants out to our greenhouse today! I can’t wait to watch them grow!!!
I think I forgot to mention that on my way home I was being followed. I noticed someone following my car then they ran in front of me. I stopped then slowed down and they followed me into my driveway then right into my house. It was a very rainy night and I didn’t want to risk them getting injured so I went along with it. My cats were very startled. A pug followed me home. I wasn’t sure where he came from, but he made himself right at home and was so friendly and comfortable around our cats. He wanted to follow me everywhere. He could sit and lie down and I let him out in the backyard to do his business. I wasn’t sure what to do. He had no identification and I looked all around asking if someone was missing a dog. When I called Christopher he got super excited and wanted me to send him pictures and he kept saying, “I get to name him!” I kept on having to remind him that this dog probably belonged to somebody.
I was about to venture out to get him food when I saw a lady with an umbrella. I asked her if she lost a dog and she said that she was actually watching him for her sister and he ran off. He did not want to leave when she called him, but she was eventually able to pick him up. It was fun to have that little visitor last night, but I think my cats are glad that he is gone for good! And I am thrilled that he found his home!
Christopher has been talking about wanting a dog for awhile and while the idea certainly is tempting; I am so content with my cats. I am definitely a cat lady. I just love how independent they are and how sassy cats can be. A dog is such a big commitment…
This evening I received a Picture with a text from Christopher it said:
So now I guess we have new puppy! Christopher said he is still working on a name for her, but I get to meet her this weekend! I am so surprised and excited! How unexpected! I can’t really tell what she looks like from this picture, but she looks pretty cute and she is 3 months old.
I feel good about today. I stuck with my challenge and I denied all temptations to deviate from my goals. That is empowering in itself. I also let myself relax which is a challenge for me. My sister and I also got to chat and catch up which was really nice. At the end of the day, I took a bath in epsom salt and lavender oil and tried out this new “Lovely Lavender Sugar Scrub.” After my bath I lathered up in my favorite “Green Tea Coconut oil Moisturizer.” That stuff has done wonders for my skin and my senses!
I think it is about time for bed! I am so thrilled that tomorrow is already Friday!
What are your favorite ways to relax?
Sweet Dreams, my Dear Darling Friends!
Love and blessings Always,
